A numerical and experimental investigation of mitigation of the vibration in a structure using single pendulum type mass damper

Abstract The main objective of the present work is that to construct a combined Pendulum Type Mass Damper (PTMD) in structure demonstrate effect damping vibrations. In order achieve this, simple prototype has been developed. An inductive proximity sensor used measure vibrations with PTMD system terms induced voltage signal. signals have acquired by using an Arduino UNO controller board. experiments carried out amplitude displacement for two cases: (i) Without adding damper or tuned mass and (ii) With 100 g, 150 200 250 g 300 respectively.
